It's all about traditional tea

Wheelock Properties has organized the first Tea Culture Experience Week in the city with the support of the Hong Kong Traditional Cultural and Arts Association to promote local tea culture, with a special session held yesterday.

The session for Club Wheelock members took place at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The event has enabled participants to not only sample different teas and chat with seasoned tea connoisseurs, but also to check out tea-themed artwork created by local students.

With a rich history under its belt, the Chinese traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices were added to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's list of intangible cultural heritage in 2022. International Tea Day, which was established by the United Nations in 2019, is celebrated annually on May 21 to raise global awareness of the historical, cultural and economic significance of tea.
