Professor takes a bow

Bowtie, the first virtual insurance company in Hong Kong, has announced the appointment of Professor Tony Mok Shu-kam, a leading clinical oncology expert, as its medical consultant.

Mok is the chairman of the Department of Clinical Oncology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

He is also the first ethnic Chinese to be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the European Society for Medical Oncology and has been named a Giant of Cancer Care 2020. Bowtie believes that with Mok's experience in treating serious diseases, he will provide strategic medical and scientific advice to the Bowtie team to further improve its health insurance products.

"Professor Mok is an iconic figure in the medical profession," said Bowtie co-founder and co-chief executive Fred Ngan Jiu-fai. "The fact that he chose Bowtie as a medical consultant rather than another long-established insurance company is of great significance to the team and is a testament to the company's progress in developing new categories of medical insurance."
