Organizers of the "Day Day Play at Tai Kwun" event are delighted with how it worked on Saturday for kindergarten kids and parents.
So organizers from the Jockey Club's Play n Gain project are now seeking more collaborations with organizations and parents to promote "play education" among kids. They are also looking to involve more seniors and parent volunteers along with non-Chinese speaking kids.
Play n Gain was rolled out by the Center for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Education and Jockey Club's Charities Trust three years ago.
Play n Gain's Yuen Man-tak said the event at Tai Kwun showed play can make learning fun with no props or special venue required.
And project director Sylvia Liu Sau-hing noted that parents are encouraged to come up with some good games.
