Intense thunderstorms and violent gusts batter HK

Hong Kong and the Pearl River Estuary are currently experiencing intense thundery showers, according to the Observatory. Officials are closely monitoring the situation to determine whether the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal needs to be issued as the shower system evolves.

The Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal has been issued at 11.10am.

The forecaster added that violent gusts impacting the city, and gusts of around 90 kilometers per hour were recorded at Lau Fau Shan at around 12.50pm.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and keep updated with the latest weather advisories as conditions may change rapidly.
