The male cat, known as “Zoe B,” disappeared on Thursday night while wandering outside the pharmacy at 737 Nathan Road. Staff became concerned after the cat’s tracking device stopped transmitting signals, prompting them to report the incident to police.
The seven-year-old cat was discovered on Friday morning at a guesthouse on an upper floor of the building.
Pharmacy staff said they could not rule out the possibility that someone had picked up the cat and taken it upstairs.
Police officers later brought a woman from the guesthouse to assist with the investigation.
Zoe B has been a familiar presence in the neighborhood for years and is affectionately known as the pharmacy’s “cat manager.” The name comes from his habit of walking to the nearby bus stop outside the shop, where he often blocks passengers waiting for buses.

The cat rose to wider fame in 2023 after winning the “Most Popular Store Cat” competition.
A shop employee surnamed Lee said Zoe B is around seven years old and has a relatively independent personality but typically returns to the shop regularly for meals.
According to CCTV footage reviewed by staff, the cat walked out of the pharmacy at around 9.45pm on Thursday and headed toward Prince Edward. It paused briefly at the entrance of a nearby building before leaving the camera’s view.
The tracking signal from the device attached to the cat was last recorded near Bute Street before disappearing.
Lee said Zoe B had previously been picked up by strangers on more than one occasion, including attempts to carry it into a taxi or take it upstairs to a guesthouse, but the cat had always been found and returned safely.
The incident sparked concern among local residents and online followers, who had been sharing information and searching for the cat overnight.
Police’s investigation is ongoing.
