Mong Kok pharmacy's famous cat 'Zoe B' missing, AirTag signal lost

A beloved celebrity cat known as "Zoe B," who serves as a store cat at a pharmacy on Nathan Road in Mong Kok, has gone missing, with the signal from its tracking device lost in the Bute Street area, sparking a police investigation and online search efforts.

According to CCTV footage, the cat was last seen heading towards Prince Edward around 9.45pm on Thursday. About 10 minutes earlier, at 9.35pm, volunteers had filmed the cat drinking water. The AirTag signal subsequently ceased in the Bute Street area – it is unclear whether the device malfunctioned or was deliberately disabled. The AirTag's battery was reportedly replaced in May last year.

"Zoe B" has lived at the pharmacy since it was six months old and has become a local celebrity, known for its daily habit of greeting passengers at the nearby bus stop after the shop opens.

Pharmacy owner Mr Lau said staff noticed the cat missing just minutes after it was last seen outside around 9.45pm. As surveillance footage did not directly capture anyone taking the cat, police have classified the case as "animal missing."

Lau suspects the CCTV footage from Route 2 buses passing Nathan Road at the time might have captured crucial moments. He has appealed to bus companies for assistance.

The disappearance has sparked widespread concern online, with a Facebook group "Zoe B Concern Group" urging anyone with information to come forward.
