A dramatic video circulating online shows police officers in To Kwa Wan springing into action to bust an illegal fuel-selling operation on Wednesday night.
The footage, filmed at the junction of Chung Sun Street and Ming Lun Street, captures officers suddenly emerging to intercept a silver private car that had just arrived. A white private car at the scene attempted to flee, reversing and dragging a fuel hose as officers shouted: "Stop! Don't run!"
Police received a report around 10pm on Wednesday about suspected illegal fuel sales in the area. Officers found three vehicles upon arrival, confirmed two were unrelated to the case, and waited for an opportunity to strike.
When the silver car arrived, officers rushed out, banged on the vehicles, opened doors, and subdued both drivers. The white car's driver attempted to escape but was intercepted.
The case has been handed over to the Fire Services Department for follow-up action.
