Man arrested after three-month-old puppy dies in Tseung Kwan O fall

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cruelty to animals after a three-month-old puppy he was caring for died in a fall in Tseung Kwan O on Sunday.

Police received a report from a security guard at Tak Chak House, Hau Tak Estate, at around 4pm about a dog found near the building believed to have fallen from a height.

Initial investigations suggest the black German Shepherd puppy fell from a unit in the building. Officers arrested the Lam surnamed man, who is being detained for questioning. The case is being handled by the criminal investigation team of Tseung Kwan O district. The dog's body was collected by the SPCA.

It is understood the dog's owner was away and had entrusted the puppy to the suspect's care.
