A 29-year-old woman was injured after being struck by a private car on Po Lam Road North in Tseung Kwan O on Tuesday evening, with the car then rear-ended by a following minibus.
The incident occurred around 8pm when the woman, surnamed So, was crossing the road near Po Lam Ambulance Depot. The private car hit her and stopped, but a green minibus following behind collided with the car's rear.
The woman, who suffered head, mouth and hand injuries, was unconscious and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She later regained consciousness. The 30-year-old male driver, surnamed Liu, complained of chest pain and was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital conscious.
Police said there was no pedestrian crossing or footbridge nearby, and it is believed the woman may have been jaywalking. Both vehicles will be impounded for investigation.
