Police have arrested 24 people and seized drugs worth approximately HK$152,000 during a raid on a suspected drug den in Yau Ma Tei on Thursday.
Yau Tsim police district special duty team officers stormed a premises on Shanghai Street around 1:30pm after in-depth investigation. A 47-year-old local woman was arrested for operating a drug den, trafficking in dangerous drugs and failing to carry identity documents.
Nineteen local men and four local women aged between 24 and 78 were also arrested for consuming or injecting dangerous drugs. All detained persons are currently under investigation.
Officers confiscated about 139 grams of suspected cocaine, 74 grams of suspected heroin, 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 509 suspected midazolam tablets, along with around HK$200 in cash. The case continues under investigation by Yau Tsim police district special duty team.
