Police seize $21,000 worth of cocaine in Yau Ma Tei, 35-year-old driver arrested

Police said officers from the Kowloon West Tactical Unit were patrolling near the intersection of Waterloo Road and Ferry Street in Yau Ma Tei on Sunday when they spotted a suspicious private car and intercepted it for inspection.

After initial investigation, officers seized about 19.5 grams of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.

A 35-year-old local male driver surnamed Fung was arrested on suspicion of trafficking in dangerous drugs and remains in custody for investigation.

The case has been handed over to the Yau Tsim district crime squad for follow-up.

The total market value of the drugs seized in the case was about HK$21,000.
