A 34-year-old Filipino domestic helper was found dead on Thursday morning in what police are investigating as a suspected suicide.
Police received a report from the woman's employer at 7.14am, saying that the helper was found hanging at a residence on 28 Tai Hang Road. According to authorities, the woman had allegedly used an approximately four-meter-long plastic rope.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead. Officers did not retrieve any suicide note at the location. The exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased had been experiencing emotional distress, with sources indicating she was reportedly troubled by family debt issues.
