A Career Relaunch Job Fair targeting middle-aged or elderly job seekers will be held in Yau Tong on Thursday (Sep 17) and Friday (Sep 18), providing nearly 2,000 openings.
Jointly organized by the Labour Department, the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions Occupational Retraining Centre and the Federation of Hong Kong & Kowloon Labour Unions, the two-day job fair will feature over 40 participating organizations from various industries.
Among the available roles, more than 1,300 positions will come from property management, catering, and retail sectors.
A diverse array of positions will be offered, including network and systems engineers, assistant chemists, building services mechanics, tunnel traffic officers, bus captains, motormen/motorwomen, security supervisors, guest services managers, accounting officers, programme coordinators, recreation assistants, servers, cooks, bakers, shop associates, room attendants, home care assistants, and lifeguards.
It is reported that approximately 90 percent of the positions are full-time, with monthly salaries ranging from HK$11,000 to HK$26,000.
Notably, about 95 percent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below, and nearly 46 percent of jobs are open to candidates without relevant work experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot, with around 20 organizations conducting recruitment on-site.
The job fair will run from 11 am to 5.30 pm at Yau Tong Community Hall with free admission.
