Policy Address consultation draws 6,900 public submissions, marking 10pc rise

The Hong Kong government has collected more than 6,900 submissions during this year’s public consultation for the Policy Address, reflecting a 10 percent increase compared to last year, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced.

In a video posted on social media on Sunday, Lee thanked the public for their active participation and assured that all feedback would be carefully reviewed.

He noted that the past two Policy Addresses have emphasized patriotic education, and authorities will continue integrating it into residents’ daily lives. Lee highlighted Hong Kong’s growing patriotic spirit following the implementation of the dual legislation on national security.

Separately, the Chief Executive announced plans to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against Japan.

Since its opening last September, the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence has welcomed 162,000 visitors, including 29,000 students from 428 school groups.

A special exhibition will launch at the end of this month, showcasing the Communist Party of China’s role in the resistance efforts across Guangdong and Hong Kong.
