Nike has filed a lawsuit against Edison Chen, the founder of Clot, on the grounds of alleged breach of contract and is seeking over US$126,000 in compensation.
The lawsuit was filed on Monday in a federal district court in Los Angeles.
According to media reports, the court initially made a clerical error, showing the sought amount of compensation as US$126 million, which was later corrected.
The US$126,615 (around HK$990,000) was sought in damages for breach of contract for "goods and services that Nike provided to Juice," a company owned by Chen.
The lawsuit came after Chen shifted course following the abrupt end of the 20-year partnership with Nike, which began in 2006. Chen then made a high-profile move by partnering with Nike's competitor Adidas in October 2024.
