Edison Chen posts cryptic Instagram message amid $126K Nike lawsuit

Edison Chen posted on social media at midnight on Wednesday in a move believed to be responding to the US$126,615 (around HK$990,000) lawsuit filed by Nike.

The founder and creative director of streetwear brand Clot shared a picture of himself wearing a pair of Adidas x CLOT sneakers on Instagram with the caption "WORD !?!?", leading fans to speculate that the post was related to the legal case.

This follows Nike, Clot's former business partner, filing the lawsuit against Chen in Los Angeles, seeking damages for breach of contract over "goods and services that Nike provided to Juice," a company owned by Chen.

According to media reports, Chen was named in the suit because he served as the personal guarantor for Juice's account with Nike.

As of 2pm on Wednesday, Chen had not issued an official statement addressing the lawsuit.
