The beloved Chiikawa characters are set to meet their fans in the city with their first official pop-up store at Harbour City, debuting on Wednesday (April 2) and running until April 27.
Spanning 3,000 square feet, the pop-up store will bring over 400 exclusive merchandise directly from Japan, ranging from clothing, backpacks to lifestyle goods, with prices starting from HK$200.
Notable highlights include the first-ever official printed T-shirts and long-sleeve tops, as well as limited-edition eco-bags that have already sold out in Japan.
Additionally, 21 popular plushies in Japan will also be available starting April 9, sold in three phases with limited quantities.
The organizers stated that each customer could purchase one of each item, with prices aligned to those found in Japan.
Snap the shot in the special photo spots
Apart from the merchandise, the store includes three unique photo spots to capture the memorable moments with the characters.
Visitors can enjoy a two-meter-tall Chiikawa character plush display wall made up of over 600 plushies, a 12-meter-long character photo wall, along with a Chiikawa and Hachiware archway greeting visitors at the entrance.
Meanwhile, a spring-themed Chiikawa wishing garden will be set up at the Ocean Terminal, with three wishing trees beside Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi.
Customers who spend over HK$300 in-store can redeem a wishing card, which allows fans to express their hopes or love for the Chiikawa characters.
Skip the line by making a reservation
To minimize waiting times, the event will distribute pre-registered and same-day queue tickets, fans can reserve their entry times for the upcoming week every Tuesday via KKday.
As each time slot allows for a maximum of 300 attendees, a daily footfall of up to 3,000 people is expected.
The event organizer announced that last week’s entry slots for this week have already been fully booked.
For those without prior reservations, same-day queue tickets will be available at the store each day at 10am, 2pm, and 5pm, with 100 tickets allocated for each hour-long session.
