The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) will introduce a Composite Restricted Foods Permit to simplify the sale of restricted foods, including non-bottled drinks, dairy products, and ice cream in original wrappers.
This new permit will allow holders to sell multiple restricted food items on the same premises or online platforms, excluding food sold through vending machines.
Applications for the new permit will open on January 1 next year, with a standard fee of HK$810 for each permit.
Meanwhile, the existing arrangements and fees for single-item restricted food permits will remain unchanged.
Under the Food Business Regulation, any individuals who sell restricted food must submit separate applications if more than one type of item is to be sold.
A spokesperson for the FEHD noted that the authorities have streamlined the application process to enhance convenience for sellers, as most are required to comply with similar basic licensing requirements and conditions.
