At around 10 am, a subcontractor stated that they were not given the remaining half of the repair fees and headed to the Wah Shing Industrial Building located in Cheung Sha Wan in order to protest the withholding of fees.
He also displayed banners demanding the payback of all the arrears and construction fees.
The subcontractor, surnamed Tang, said that the repair of the building was completed at an earlier date, but he was not given the remaining 50 percent of the construction fee, with totals of more than HK$370,000, with HK$200,000 being the withheld cost of the main contractor.
Tang also pointed out that on January 9, the building committee members and management companies came to inspect the repair progress of the building and found that the construction was complete but had not paid the HK$740,000 repair costs.
And they only paid half of the costs before the Lunar New Year.
He also said that there were no workers who were affected by the withholding of wages, as he did not want his workers to not have money for the Lunar New Year and had paid out their salaries, suffering the costs by himself.
