The Longines series of horse races that will be held next Sunday will see overseas racehorses joining local racehorses to contest four prestigious races, along with a lineup of exciting performers at the opening ceremony.
The annual race day, known as the Turf World Championships, is a highlight of the international horseracing calendar and the world's year-end Group One extravaganza, with a combined prize of HK$118 million.
The Jockey Club said there will be as many as 24 overseas racehorses on the December 10 racecards, setting a record for overseas horses arriving in the city since 2018.
Before the races on Sunday, actress and singer Karen Mok Man-wai will hold her first-ever opening performance at the Prade Ring to get the exciting racing events of the day started by setting the stage alive.
Racegoers can also watch musical performances at the Mezza One, involving singers from the TVB's Stars Academy, along with taking photos or videos with the champion racehorse Golden Sixty and his jockey Vincent Ho using AR lenses.
For those who would like to enjoy riding horses or have an interest in eSports, they can head to the Jockeys' eTraining Zone at Backstage to try various interactive games such as e-boxing, e-cycling, and VR running and earn prizes while stocks still last.
The exhilarating race day will end with an equally exciting pyrotechnics show, bringing the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races to an unforgettable climax.
