Workers stage protest over unpaid wages in Kwun Tong

Police were alerted to Kwun Tong after workers were seen protesting over their unpaid wages on Monday afternoon.

20 construction workers were spotted hanging a banner at 9 a.m. today at 151 Wai Yip Street, located on Kwun Tong, to recover their unpaid wages.

The banner they hung had the words 'heartless employer' and 'no salary despite hard work and sweat spent" written on it.

During their protests, the workers also used railings in an attempt to block traffic, along with walking out to the roads to stage their protests.

The two traffic lanes on the street towards Kwun Tong were significantly affected temporarily.
