The Observatory issued the amber rainstorm warning signal at 6.25 am on Sunday, which means heavy rain exceeding 30 millimeters in an hour has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong.
A minor flooding occurred on the lower ground floor of the Temple Mall North at 7.51 am, and the floodwater can still be seen at 9.50 am.
It took about six hours for the mall to drain the water.
The heavy rain also affected Wong Tai Sin Station as flood barriers had to be set up at Exit D1; elevators and escalators were still out of order.
In addition, part of the Lung Cheung Road was flooded again amid the amber rainstorm warning. Workers have to remove the drainage covers and clear the channels.
