Now United light up Happy Valley Racecourse with lively Hong Kong debut

Global pop group Now United is recording its latest single, “Giddy Up”, in Hong Kong after being brought to the city by the HKJC’s Rising Stars Project, jointly launched by The Hong Kong Jockey Club and XIX Entertainment.

HKJC’s Rising Stars Ambassador Aaron Kwok visited Now United in the recording studio recently, where he previewed the new single. Kwok shared valuable recording techniques and offered his prized feedback and advice to new member Ariel Tsang from Hong Kong, China, Desirée Santos from Brazil and Krystian Wang from Beijing.

In particular, Kwok encouraged Tsang to experiment with breathy vocals for certain lyrics to add a sense of mystery and style. Following his guidance, Tsang showed marked improvement in her delivery, earning praise from Kwok for her strong grasp of vocal expression. The studio session for “Giddy Up”, which is inspired by horses, ended playfully with Kwok and the group posing together for a photo striking horse-riding poses.

Last week, the group wowed the Happy Wednesday crowd during their first public performance in Hong Kong at a packed Happy Valley Racecourse. They delivered an energetic performance of two popular Now United songs, “It’s One Love” and “Wave Your Flag”, captivating the large gathering of fans and racegoers. The upbeat rhythms had the entire audience moving to the beat, amplifying the electric atmosphere.

The live show also included a screening of their new music video for “Beautiful World”, which was filmed in Hong Kong and registered over two million views within a week of its release online. With themes of unity, hope and Hong Kong’s dynamic energy, the video beautifully showcases the city’s diverse charms and spirited character. Fans basked in the joyful ambience while also experiencing the magnetic power of a world-class stage performance.
