The benchmark Hang Seng Index jumped 468 points, or 1.93 percent, to 24,718 points, with a full-day turnover of HK$316.4 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index increased 1.06 percent to 4,705 points.
Chow Tai Fook Jewellery (1929) surged 15 percent on its record-high profit, marking the best performer among blue chips.
Zijin Mining (2899) and Laopu Gold (6181) also jumped 7.9 percent and 6 percent, respectively.
Tech heavyweights broadly rose, with Alibaba (9988) and Tencent (0700) advancing 2.6 percent and 1.4 percent.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index went up 1.12 percent to 4,031 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index rose 0.75 percent to 14,963 points.
