Veteran entertainer Eric Tsang Chi-wai has spoken for the first time about actress Michelle Wai Sze-nga’s injury on the set of his new drama Lies Hunter, saying the male actor involved felt extremely guilty over the incident.
Tsang, who serves as producer of Lies Hunter, spoke about the incident on Sunday (Aug 23) while attending the finale of TVB singing competition Midlife, Sing & Shine 4 at Kai Tak Arena.
He said the incident was “really frightening” and stressed that the most important thing was that Wai was safe.
Tsang explained that Wai was standing behind the male actor during the first shot but did not stand up. When she stood up during the second shot, the actor’s watch accidentally struck her in the face, causing her injury.
Asked whether he had visited Wai, Tsang said he had not yet had the opportunity.
He added that singer Alan Tam Wing-lun was also concerned after hearing about the incident and had suggested an ointment that could help with her injury.
Tsang said he felt sorry about what happened and hoped Wai’s scar would heal soon.
Tsang’s first production under his own company, Lies Hunter, has been marred by a series of accidents during filming, with a male and female actor sustaining injuries and being taken to hospital on separate occasions.
