TVB executive chairman Thomas Hui presented the award, with Tsang's friend Alan Tam as the surprise presenter. Tam sang a song in tribute.
Tsang said: "Over the past five years, with everyone's support, our programs were liked and enjoyed – that's what made me happiest. Today, I feel I've somewhat run out of ideas, and it's time to step down to let the younger generation I've worked with carry on, to elevate TVB and shoulder this responsibility."
TVB appointed Tsang as convener of a newly established advisory committee.

Tsang returned to TVB in 2021, driving reforms in variety and music programming, including mending ties with major record companies and launching shows like "Infinity and Beyond" and "Midlife, Sing & Shine!." Earlier reports said he would become an advisor after stepping down.
He first left TVB in 2017 after 25 years, rejoining in January 2021 as deputy general manager overseeing variety and music production, then promoted in September that year to general manager responsible for major content operations.
