Seventy-year-old worker dies after a 1.5m fall from ladder

A 70-year-old worker died on Thursday after he fell off a 1.5-meter-tall ladder in Shatin.

The tragedy happened at around 1 pm today when the worker was working at Phase 2 Windsor Park in Shatin. It is understood that the man was climbing onto the ladder to remove objects from the exterior wall of the estate.

Sources said he slipped off the ladder, falling head-first onto the ground.

His co-workers immediately called for help after finding the 70-year-old lying on the floor unconscious.

Parademics responded and rushed the man to the Prince of Wales Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after resuscitation attempts.

Police are currently investigating the industrial accident.
