World No 2 Vu adds star power to Fanling event

World No 2 Lilia Vu will add star power to the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF at Hong Kong Golf Club from October 6 to October 8.

The 25-year-old American is having a stellar season on the LPGA Tour, winning two majors - the AIG Women's Open and the Chevron Championship, which she took via playoff, in April.

Having won the Honda LPGA Thailand in February, Vu will be aiming for a second victory on Asian soil when she tees off at Fanling.

Chinese stars Lin Xiyu Lin and He Muni will also compete in the team event.

The team element of the Aramco series certainly won't faze Vu, who won as a member of Team USA at the 2018 Curtis Cup, Arnold Palmer Cup and Espirito Santo Trophy.

And two weeks before the Hong Kong event, Vu will compete on the biggest stage in women's team golf - the Solheim Cup - after securing her spot on the US team that will square off against Europe.

"I am thrilled to be part of the Aramco Team Series-Hong Kong and have the chance to compete in Asia again," She said.

The event, sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour, gathers top professionals and accomplished amateur players. As the fourth stop on this year's series, the Hong Kong edition will have 28 teams, each comprised of three pros and one amateur. Additionally, a three-day individual stroke play competition will determine the individual titleholder.

Andy Kwok, captain of the Hong Kong Golf Club, said Vu's participation "elevates the tournament's prestige and showcases its global allure."
