PolyU goes all in on big tech

Cultivating talents is the "cornerstone" of innovation and technology development, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong said.

Speaking at the launch celebration ceremony of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Sun noted the government's multi-pronged approach to expanding the talent pool in innovation and technology.

The newly established Faculty offers courses covering emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data computing, blockchain technology and metaverse technology.

The Interim Dean of the Faculty, Chen Changwen, said they will collaborate with other faculties at PolyU to promote developments in health, medicine and related fields through AI.
