SPCA back to opening 24/7

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) will reopen its 24-hour veterinary emergency and hospital services at its Wan Chai headquarters on June 3, after a two-year suspension because of the pandemic.

"We are extremely excited to reopen our veterinary 24-hour hospital, offering a high standard of animal care to pet owners in HK at a reasonable cost," said the SPCA's chief veterinary surgeon Jane Gray.

"With state-of-the-art equipment and a team of highly committed professionals, we are confident that our hospital will serve as a center of excellence," she added.

The Wai Chai hospital is equipped with an upgraded facility after renovations in 2021, including enhanced cat and dog non-infectious wards and isolation wards, state-of-the-art ICU units with temperature-controlled oxygen chambers and a ward specifically for exotic animals.

The new treatment area and ward layout have been carefully planned to streamline treatments and provide a calm environment to reduce stress.
