Newspaper society launches new initiative

Lee Cho-jat was reelected president of the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong, while vice-chairwoman and chief executive officer of Sing Tao News Corp Betty Kwok Hiu-ting was reelected as vice-chairwoman.

Other council members reelected for the 2023-2025 executive committee in the 68th annual general meeting yesterday include Sing Tao News Corp chief executive officer Cai Jin and editor-in-chief of Sing Tao Daily and The Standard Ivan Tong Kam-pui.

Lo Wing-hung, publisher of Bastille Post, was also among the 16 council members elected.

The society said it will continue to raise the professional standard of journalism, safeguard the interests of the industry and maintain close communication with the government.

The society has collaborated with member organizations and launched NewsocHub - a joint platform for multimedia advertising sales offering a one-stop online advertising hub - to enhance the profitability and sustainability of newspapers.
