Disneyland to welcome new statue

Hong Kong Disneyland will see a new Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue in October.

The Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue - "Dream Makers" - will make its debut at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on October 16.

The statue will feature a life-sized Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. It was designed and created in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Disney, as well as the 18th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland. It will be located in front of the Cinderella Carousel, with the statue facing the merry-go-round.

The location inspiration comes from the story of Walt Disney, founder of Disney, taking his daughters to Griffith Park in Los Angeles. He had the idea of building Disneyland as he saw his daughters riding on the merry-go-round.

The Dream Makers Preview Gallery, which features stories of Walt and Mickey, is open to Disney cast members until August 4, while Magic Access members can visit the Preview Gallery starting from Saturday to September 30. The gallery includes some exhibits from Walt Disney Archives.
