Performances and what goes into getting them on stage and screen feature at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts' annual open Day on March 5. Activities include a performance by the Junior Symphony Orchestra, Chinese and Western music concerts, excerpts from musicals, dramas and Cantonese opera, classes in dance and design, plus technology displays and screenings.
The open day returns to the academy's main campus in Wan Chai and the Bethanie Landmark Heritage Campus in Pok Fu Lam in face-to-form after a three-year intermission caused by the pandemic.

Visitors can also experience performing arts technologies and explore the magic of the backstage, taking in sets, props, costumes and special effects.
The academy's "Go Digital" Library exhibition is another highlight.
Academy director Gillian Choa said: "We're delighted to be again presenting our annual open day in a physical format. The academy has continued to explore innovative ways of teaching and learning and is keen to showcase its work."
