Japanese rock sensation King Gnu will make their long-awaited Hong Kong debut this May, bringing their largest tour to date to AsiaWorld-Arena for two nights of high-energy performances.
The band will perform on May 29 and 30, 2026, as part of their “King Gnu CEN+RAL Tour 2026.” Tickets will go on sale on March 9 at 11am via KKTIX, marking a highly anticipated moment for J-Rock fans in the city.
Formed by Daiki Tsuneta (vocals and guitar), Yu Seki (drums), Kazuki Arai (bass), and Satoru Iguchi (vocals and keyboards), King Gnu has established itself as one of the most influential bands in Japan’s contemporary music scene. Known for blending rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic influences, the group describes its sound as “Tokyo New Mixture Style,” a genre-defying approach that has attracted a global following.
Their rise to prominence began with the breakout hit “Hakujitsu,” which has amassed more than 500 million views online. Since then, the band has produced a string of chart-topping songs, including “SPECIALZ,” “Ichizu,” and “Sakayume,” which gained international attention through the anime Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as “TWILIGHT,” a recent hit associated with the long-running Detective Conan franchise.
The upcoming Hong Kong shows form part of the band’s most ambitious overseas tour so far, reflecting their expanding global fan base.
For the Hong Kong concerts, King Gnu will depart from the traditional stage arrangement by introducing a center stage setup placed in the middle of the arena. The design will allow audiences to surround the band from all sides, creating a 360-degree concert experience.
The immersive configuration is expected to bring fans closer to the band’s performance while highlighting the visual production and artistic concept that have become central to King Gnu’s live shows.
With its combination of powerful live music and dynamic stage design, the concerts aim to showcase the group’s distinctive artistic vision from every angle.
The arrival of King Gnu in Hong Kong is widely seen as a milestone for the city’s Japanese music community, giving local fans the chance to experience the band’s genre-blending sound and theatrical stage production for the first time.
