HK lands Super Terminal Expo

The Super Terminal Expo, organized by Informa Markets, the world's largest event organizer, is set to be held in November at the AsiaWorld-Expo for the first time, bringing together some 6,000 representatives from airports and airlines.

The decision to host the expo is strongly supported by the Airport Authority, which aims to showcase the three-runway system and the business opportunities presented by the airport's strategic location within the Greater Bay Area and other surrounding regions.

"Bringing people together is what we do. People want to find out the latest trends and what is happening in the regions, and the exhibition is the best way to do it," said Michael Duck, Informa Markets' executive vice president of commercial development.

Authority acting chief executive Vivian Cheung Kar-fay said the expo "will not only bring new ideas and business opportunities for our aviation and transportation sector but also benefit the wider economy and further promote Hong Kong's attraction to major global events."

Its objective is "to let the world know we are developing a world-class city by using the most advanced technology and innovative ideas, and to showcase business opportunities in Hong Kong," enabling people around the world to gain business in the city, she said.

"This conference will let investors understand what is available in Hong Kong," Cheung said.

The expo is expected to feature more than 300 exhibitors, ranging from companies involved in airfield construction to those focused on airspace technologies, including Huawei and Turkish Airlines.

The event will also include over 80 content sessions featuring speakers from top-notch airports and technology companies who will cover themes such as future terminals, sustainability and advanced air mobility.

It will host inaugural awards in three categories: best innovation, sustainable initiative and terminal design, which will be presented during a gala dinner on November 5.
