Ovoid display dazzles 1.3m visitors

The teamLab exhibition in Tamar Park attracted over 1.3 million visitors since its opening on March 25, with the exhibition concluding last Saturday.

According to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the exhibition featured hundreds of colorful luminous ovoids placed on the lawn area.

In addition to the teamLab exhibition, the "Science in Art" project was also held at the Central and Western District Promenade as part of the Art@Harbour2024 large-scale outdoor art initiative.

The LCSD said the two projects attracted over 2 million visitors, exceeding the department's initial expectations.

Also, three other art projects in Tsim Sha Tsui - Alicja Kwade's sculpture "l'ordre des mondes (Totem)" by K11 Group and Pace Gallery, "Chromaflux" by Sino Group and HKWalls, and "Voyage with Van Gogh" by the First Initiative Foundation in collaboration with the Van Gogh Heritage Foundation - have each received more than 2 million visitors.

The Art@Harbour2024 project has not only attracted the general public to visit these displays, but also prominent figures in the art world from across the globe, including representatives from Art Basel, Art Central, as well as officials overseeing cultural affairs from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.

The LCSD also arranged guided tours for approximately 2,000 students with special educational needs, individuals with visual impairment and recipients of non-governmental organizations to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

The Art@Harbour project - first introduced in 2022 - aims to showcase Hong Kong's vibrancy through a fusion of science, technology and art. It provides residents and visitors with a unique visual experience along the Victoria Harbour waterfronts, made possible through the collaboration of the government, private sector and art organizations.
