Best new director gets married

Hong Kong director Nick Cheuk Yik-him, who won various awards for his drama film Time Still Turns The Pages, including the best new director in Golden Horse Awards, was married on Saturday, he announced yesterday.

The young director posted their wedding photos to Instagram and reaped blessings from a host of friends, including his leading actor Lo Chun-yip from the awarded film, as well as actress Charlene Choi Tsoek-jin, Fish Liew Chi-yu and Jennifer Yu Heung-ying.

The bride prepared two sets of wedding gowns that were simple yet elegant.

Since Nick Cheuk has attracted a lot of attention in the film industry in recent years, his private life has also been in the spotlight.

He once said his parents, including his father, deputy chief secretary for administration Warner Cheuk Wing-hing, wished him to have a stable and lucrative job but he was not good at school work.

He has since found his calling in film.
