SHK queen tops China's billionaire list

Kwong Siu-hing, wife of Sun Hung Kai Properties' co-founder Kwok Tak-seng, has become China's richest woman for the first time this year as her wealth rose by 4 percent to 72 billion yuan (HK$77.1 billion), according to the Hurun Research Institute.

Embattled developer Country Garden's chairwoman Yang Huiyan, who topped the list last year, saw her fortune shrink by 36 percent but still managed to rank fifth with 48 billion yuan.

Wu Yajun, co-founder of Chinese developer Longfor Group came in at second place with 66.5 billion yuan, followed by Beijing-based property developer Fu Wah International's founder Chen Lihua at 58 billion yuan, and electronics manufacturer Luxshare Precision's co-founder Wang Laichun at 53 billion yuan.

Hurun said the list calculates women entrepreneurs' personal wealth by separating it from that of their families. This year, the cut-off date for the calculation was September 1, which is also the 18th consecutive release.
