A 40-year-old nurse was bound over for two years on Monday morning (Aug 24) after being accused of stealing two bracelets worth HK$1,850 from a jewelry shop at Langham Place in Mong Kok in April.

Principal Magistrate Don So Man-lung approved the defendant, Cheuk Wing-fong, signing a HK$2,000 bond to keep the peace for two years at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts.
Cheuk was also ordered to pay HK$1,850 in compensation to the company that owned the bracelets, after which the charge was withdrawn.
Cheuk was charged with stealing two bracelets worth HK$1,850 from Luah Jewelry Langham Place, located at Shop K301, Level 3, Langham Place, 8 Argyle Street, Mong Kok, on April 21.
The bracelets were the property of Made by Works (Hong Kong) Limited.
The store manager discovered on April 21 that the two bracelets were missing while checking the shop’s inventory. After reviewing CCTV footage, he found that Cheuk had taken the items at around 4pm without making payment, prompting him to report the case to police.
Three days later, on April 24, the manager saw Cheuk return to the shop at around 5pm. Police were called to the scene and arrested her.
Cheuk remained silent when cautioned. Police found only HK$8 on her at the time of arrest and did not recover the stolen bracelets from her residence.
