Man found dead in Siu Sai Wan Estate flat after security guard reports unusual smell

A 44-year-old man was found dead in his flat at Siu Sai Wan Estate in Chai Wan on Thursday afternoon after a security guard reported a strange smell coming from the unit, police said.

The security guard was patrolling Shui Sing House around 2pm when he noticed the odour. After receiving no response when knocking, he called police.

Officers and paramedics entered the flat and found a man surnamed Wong lying on a bed in the bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case has been classified as a body found. The cause of death is pending a post-mortem examination.
