School bus driver faints in Causeway Bay, no children on board

A kindergarten school bus driver fainted while driving in Causeway Bay on Thursday (Mar 19) morning, bringing the vehicle to a halt in a yellow box junction.

The incident occurred at about 8.57am, as the bus was travelling along Leighton Road. The male driver reportedly lost consciousness during the journey.

A bus attendant discovered the driver unconscious and called police.

Emergency services arrived and took the driver to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment.

No children were on board at the time, as all had already been dropped off at a nearby kindergarten.

Police are treating the case as a “person collapsed” and are investigating.
