The enforcement operations took place across multiple districts in Hong Kong and were carried out jointly with several government departments, including the Hong Kong Police Force, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, the Home Affairs Department, the Customs and Excise Department, and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
According to authorities, nine of those arrested — four men and five women — are suspected illegal workers. Another woman was detained on suspicion of employing illegal labor.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 50, are currently under investigation.
The Immigration Department said the operations form part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal employment in the city. Authorities warned that both illegal workers and employers who hire them could face serious legal consequences.
Investigations are ongoing.
