Salt water pipe bursts near Tiu Keng Leng MTR station, causing flooding

A salt water supply pipe burst near Tiu Keng Leng MTR station in Tseung Kwan O on Sunday evening, sending muddy water gushing onto the road like a torrent.

The incident occurred around 8pm on Chui Ling Road, close to the station. Murky water broke through paving bricks and surged down a slope, forcing vehicles to drive through the flow and pedestrians to take cover.

The Water Supplies Department confirmed preliminary findings show a 300-millimeter diameter salt water supply pipe was involved. Staff have been dispatched to the scene for follow-up action.
