A rat was allegedly spotted running across sushi display chillers at a Don Don Donki branch in Tuen Mun Town Plaza, according to videos shared online on Thursday (Feb 12), raising public concern over food hygiene.
A social media user uploaded two video clips showing a rat moving inside a chilled sushi display chiller, running across at least 10 boxes of sushi and jumping between partitions. In another clip, the rat was seen climbing onto the top of a second sushi display chiller and moving across promotional signage before disappearing from view.
The uploader said the footage was genuine and not AI-generated, adding that nearby shoppers were startled.
The videos quickly drew attention online, with some netizens expressing concern about hygiene conditions and urging authorities to investigate.
