66-year-old arrested for threatening Housing Dept officer with cleaver in Kwai Chung

A 66-year-old man was arrested for allegedly threatening a Housing Department officer with a cleaver during a home visit in Kwai Chung on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called around 5pm after the officer reported being threatened with the weapon and verbally intimidated by a male resident at a unit in Kwai Shing East Estate.

Officers arrived and seized a cleaver measuring about 28 centimeters from the scene. Following initial inquiries, a Yeung surnamed man was arrested on suspicion of "possession of an offensive weapon" and "criminal intimidation." He is being detained for further investigation.

No one was injured. The case has been taken over by the Criminal Investigation Team of Kwai Tsing district.
