A 55-year-old British man reported earlier this month that his credit card was stolen while he was enjoying himself in Wan Chai’s bar district and later discovered it had been used in two separate transactions totaling around HK$10,800.
The Wan Chai District Anti-Triad Unit launched an investigation after receiving the report on November 23.
Following a review of CCTV footage and intelligence analysis, police arrested six suspects Tuesday night (Dec 23) in the Wan Chai bar area, including a Nepali man and five Filipino women, aged between 35 and 56.
They are suspected of conspiracy to steal and are currently in police custody.
During the operation, officers seized several electronic payment terminals, transaction receipts, CCTV hard drives, and cash.
The case remains under investigation.
