Hong Kong Customs Commissioner Chan Tsz-tat on Monday attended the launch of a trial scheme in Qianhai, Shenzhen, to simplify the export of electric private cars from mainland China to Hong Kong.
The ceremony included senior Shenzhen officials, including the member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Director General of the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Co-operation Zone of Shenzhen Municipality, Wang Shourui, and the Director General in the Shenzhen Customs District, Zheng Jugang, building on a similar successful Guangzhou-Hong Kong program started in June.
The new Shenzhen-Hong Kong scheme allows importers to submit advance details to Hong Kong Customs for pre-arrival processing and apply early for first registration tax concessions on eligible electric vehicles, streamlining logistics and boosting efficiency.
