A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Friday (Dec 12) by Hong Kong’s National Security Department for suspected “illegal drilling” in connection with the earlier enforcement where nine men were apprehended following a raid on a secure San Po Kong industrial unit used for military-style combat training.
For the nine arrested earlier on Thursday (Dec 11), the department said it has charged two men, aged 24 and 25, jointly with one count of “conspiracy to commit subversion”. The case will be mentioned at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on Monday (Dec 15).
The arrested woman and other arrestees were released on bail and are required to report back to the Police in mid-January next year.
Investigations revealed that a syndicate has been conducting illegal drilling inside a unit of an industrial building in Kowloon, which include training such as firearms drills, knife techniques and combat skills.
Officers have seized offensive weapons suspected to be used for the unlawful drilling at the premises.
