The Electoral Affairs Commission convened an emergency management committee meeting on Monday to prepare for Sunday's Legislative Council election, including adjusting polling stations affected by the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire.

Chairman David Lok Kai-hong chaired the session where government departments briefed on cybersecurity risks, security assessments and contingency plans for various scenarios that could impact voting day operations.
The meeting addressed redeployment arrangements for polling stations and staffing adjustments necessitated by the recent fatal fire. Departments including the Office for Digital Policy, Hong Kong Police Force, Registration and Electoral Office, Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, Security Bureau, Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, Information Services Department, Department of Justice, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Hong Kong Observatory and Transport Department participated.
Lok said the crisis management committee will help monitor election proceedings and handle incidents affecting the polling process. The preparations aim to ensure smooth operations during the upcoming legislative elections.
