Hiker rescued by helicopter after fall at Tai Lam Chung reservoir

A 35-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after falling and injuring himself while hiking near Tai Lam Chung reservoir on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:37pm when the hiker, surnamed Tse, was walking with his wife near the Thousand Island Lake area and fell in the vicinity of Reservoir Islands Viewpoint.

The man sustained hand and chin injuries and reported feeling dizzy. Fellow hikers discovered the injured man and alerted emergency services.

The Government Flying Service dispatched a helicopter to the scene, airlifting the victim to the Wan Chai helipad before transferring him to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment.
